The High Court has confirmed that the bones of Richard III should be re-interred at Leicester Cathedral in accordance with the exhumation licence granted to Leicester University.
Three judges confirmed that it is “time for King Richard III to be given a dignified reburial, and finally laid to rest”.
The University, City Council and Ministry of Justice have been left to foot their own bill of around £250,000 for defending the claims of the Plantagenet Alliance that a reburial should be the subject of much broader consultation.
